The Six are the mysterious, powerful Lords of the Werewolves spoken of frequently in tales and called by many different names (although the most common remain their simplest, color-based names); they are the largest and most powerful of their kind, and of all the descendants of the Shifters. They are a strange group, for they consist of six werewolves, each of a different color. Very little is known about each, and their true identities (if they even have any) remains unknown, but all of them appear individually or together in many legends and tales. Some werewolves have taken to venerating the Six, while others barely acknowledge their existence. The true nature of the Six is a mystery, but it is evident that they have existed for many ages. Many suspect they are either somehow immortal or that members of the Six die and are replaced by chosen heirs they infected, but neither of these rumors can be confirmed or denied.

PowersEdit

HowlEdit

A mere howl from one of the Six will exert a strong influence on a werewolf to transform and follow their leader, an urge that is as powerful as the full moon and impossible to resist. Both wolves and vargs also answer this call.

TransformationsEdit

The Six are the only werewolves in existence with full control over their transformations, and they are able to take the form of a werewolf or a wolf at will, although some stories say that they still transform every full moon. If they do have human forms, which is disputed by some tales, it is a mystery who they are or what they look like.

OtherEdit

Legends have also claimed that the Six have even more magical (mostly elemental and spiritual) abilities, and simply through direct eye contact, they can cause unimaginable fear or stare directly into the person's soul. Some even say that the Six can steal others' souls through eye contact. Obviously, there are many other claims about powers wielded by the Six, but it is unknown which of these powers - if any - are true.

Members of the SixEdit

The WhitewolfEdit

The Whitewolf is a white werewolf with black claws and pale blue eyes. The Whitewolf is often described as wearing feathers, necklaces of teeth, and other shamanistic ornaments. On mysterious islands far out to sea in the west, he is known to some cultures as Amarok, a giant wolf who kills those foolish enough to hunt alone, and to others he is a benevolent (if vicious) spirit simply called Vengeance.

The BrownwolfEdit

The Brownwolf is a brown werewolf with green eyes. He is usually depicted wearing tattered cloth and is said to be a guardian of forests and animals. Some have claimed that the Brownwolf is worshipped by some clans of wood elves, who call him the Forest Father and other such names, and he is supposedly friends with the Dryads.

The BlackwolfEdit

The Blackwolf is a black werewolf with red eyes. He is usually depicted wearing rich ornaments and a short cape. Although legends speak of all the Six using Elemental magic, the Blackwolf is said to use it most often. He is also depicted as using Arcane magic frequently, even employing magical tricks to confuse his enemies.

The GreywolfEdit

The Greywolf is a grey werewolf with orange eyes. He is often described as wearing ornaments of a Northrim warrior, and some say he was the original inspiration for the Northern berserkers.

The GoldwolfEdit

The Goldwolf is a golden-blond werewolf with deep blue eyes. She is depicted wearing shining golden ornaments and even bits of armor, and out of all the members of the Six, she is the one most commonly depicted as being active during daylight. In many older tales, she is sometimes portrayed as a benevolent protector, but these depictions are steadily being lost in the face of much darker stories.

The RedwolfEdit

The Redwolf is a crimson red werewolf with bright, golden-yellow eyes. The Redwolf is generally depicted wearing little or no clothing, and she is portrayed as a savage animal and a cunning hunter. She is best known for her incredible displays of bloodlust and violence, and she is considered the most vicious of all the Six. Her epithets include the Bloodwolf, the Crimson Devourer, the Manslayer, and more, and she is known among certain clans of wood elves as the Huntress.
